Recent TuneIn Radio: News, Music & FM Reviews
Listened to TuneIn for a short while this morning. It now connects to Bluetooth in my car and starts automatically overriding everything else. This has continued after Force stopping it as well as closing it out. I’ve tried to go into settings and find a solution to no avail. All of the online fixes don’t work either. The next stop is to simply uninstall it and get rid of it. Can someone tell me how to control this?
I’ve been using this app everyday for years and the past few weeks have only played what I was listening to for a few minutes and closes down and have to restart and hear another minute ad then does the same thing all over again so almost uninstalled but just did the update. I hope that will fix the problem. 5 star tomorrow if runs like it used to without the interpretations nonstop
The Android TV app is an atrocity. There’s no way to log in, so no access to favorites. You can’t favorite any stations in app. The search function is practically non-functional. And the overall UI is so basic and terribly implemented that it’s actually better to just install the app on your phone and cast it to your Android TV device. At least the iPhone app allows this.
Stop!!! Do not update! It keeps jumping between weird new theme that will not allow even sorting favorites and back to previous style that won’t even let me change the default setting for favorites sorting – and that’s on both phone and tablet. What a pain and aggravation to use. Still too many ads as well. I will never update this junk again. I’d give it negative star ratings if I could. One of the worst apps I have.
I’ve used this app for years and have been a loyal advocate for TuneIn. While the app is not perfect, it’s way ahead of whatever’s in second place (for my needs). You can access podcasts, radio stations, and more. The most important feature to me is the rewind/fast forward/pause feature, which allows me to not miss live broadcasts if I’m interrupted while listening–or to rewind if I didn’t hear something, which can be very important.
TuneIn used to be good, but, now they have ads every 20 mins AND it’s multiple 30 second ads in a row. When their ads play, you lose ALL the buffered audio. Look, I understand it’s the free version, but, it never used to be this ad heavy, nor so user-unfriendly with the buffering. No longer a good choice if you’re trying to listen to a talk station.
This app has many bugs. It’s more iritating than it’s worth. I can’t close the app from within the app. I can pause it. However, it starts audio spontaneously, even when the screen is not up. Very irritating. I am trying to find another app to replace it. I have been using this app for years and the usability has steadily declined. Hey developers, you need to pay attention to user comments and ratings!
UPDATE: The previous issue is fixed, (thank you!) but now the <30 and 30> rewind/FF buttons are always grayed out when listening to radio stations so I can’t use them. What happened?? Overall good. But I often have Power Saving Mode turned on on my Samsung Note 20 Ultra and TuneIn insists on telling me that “Turning on Power Saving Mode will cause playback to stop. For uninterrupted playback, please disable this mode” via a pop-up message every single time I change to a new station.
I’ve used this for years and have always liked how easy it was to hear everything the speakers say, even repeat what I’ve just heard. They’ve taken away the rewind and fast forward. You can’t pause and go back or jump forward at all now – used to be able to touch a different place on the stream bar to go back further. Much less of an app than it used to be, especially because it happened all of a sudden.
Don’t try to use except very early or very late. Won’t stay connected so you just get a few seconds of story at a time. And they claim “the station you are listening to is experiencing technical difficulties” when it is the app that isn’t staying connected. Also, they can’t seem to find more than four or five advertisers, so you get to listen to the same commercials over and over every five minutes. Actually makes me more determined NOT to buy from their
