I really like the content but the app execution is poor and amateur. I have constant issues with customization such as it never saves my stream configuration. Another example, whenever I view an article from the Twitter feeds and go back, it loses my place and I have to scroll all the way through the feeds again. I do like that ads don’t pop up and are included when scrolling instead. Nice compromise. The app development just takes it from great potential to a very frustrating experience.

App has gotten extremely buggy. Clicking on a video now just goes full screen black screen. Can’t ‘back’ out of it. Must force quit app and reopen. Also trying to full screen a video and then turn the phone sideways makes it portrait mode in the middle of the phone and super tiny, practically unviewable. No way to expand on landscape mode to full screen. Pixel 6 pro.

App runs about 15 minutes before crashing. Better off using another app to keep up with your sports. This app DOES have a lot of useful info, and it could be a 5 star app; if it ran properly. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20, and I had a Samsung Galaxy 9 before this; the app ran awful on both phones. Which leads me to believe it’s horrible coding and not a phone software issue. I’m re-downloading the ESPN app and the NFL app. Using 2 apps is less of a headache than having this one crash on me.

Edit and update: this app is absolute garbage. When using it for streaming a premium event like AEW’s Double or Nothing PayPerView it will constantly stutter, glitch, and/or even crash completely. I paid $50 for an event that I still have not been able to watch in it’s entirety and can’t even gain access back to. This isn’t even including the glitch where it tried to charge the entire customer base twice for the same event. If you have an alternative, use that. This app is the worst.

This app has everything related to sports, except any respect for sports fans. If all you want is the notification with a snippet of sports news, this app can deliver a spectacular experience. If you want to actually read the actual tweet, see the video, or read the story associated with that notification, you can get bent. I do understand that is the user was allowed to go from notification and click directly through to an article, that would bypass the user spending any time in the atrocity of the actual bleacher report app. Which is where the problem lies. The app uses a modest 67Mb with another 16 for my user data. That seems fine. After having the app running in the background for an hour, the cache regularly is consuming I’m excess of 150Mb. This causes the articles to load slowly and the feeds to become sluggish and even unresponsive. Even wise for the user experience, more than half the time, the feeds are completely mangled and dissociated from the notifications that I receive. The current example is a notification about Usain Bolt and his journey to try to play in the Champions League. I was intrigued, so I clicked on the notification and the app opened to the appropriate feed. But the articles in view were not the one I was interested in. I scrolled up and down and still no article about Usain Bolt. I flushed the cache, restarted the app, went to the alerts section and clicked on the notification again, the exact same thing happened. If this was an isolated experience, I wouldn’t have taken the time to write this review. It has happened often enough that I now use bleacher report as a notification engine and then use Google to find the relevant story. 🤔

I love the app, but there are so many glitches and bugs. First of all, the video player loves to bug out, forcing a reset of the app. The notifications rarely lead to the correct post when clicked on. Recently, the app won’t even open and will crash, especially when clicking on notifications. Fix the app notifications please, it’s not rocket science guys

While I haven’t really found anything that compares to what B/R offers, the app and services aren’t really all that reliable. The new update ruined looking at live stats as the seperate rows are too finicky to allow smooth browsing. Comments will just be half cut off with no option to expand, and often times things just won’t load. They usually just post half-assed stories and takes without much in the way of reasoning as well. If the UI is fixed, then so to are most of the issues.

Bleacher Report you should be ashamed. Freezes up way to much! Everytime I purchase a PPV on the App it freezes up and pauses so many times. It drives me nuts, especially when I’m pay $50+ for the PPV. Then on top of that I go back to watch the replay it’s just as bad freezes up and glitches every 5 seconds. Skips parts of the matches, often at the end of the match, then picking up well into the next match. No way to rewind or pause the replay either. This is just totally unacceptable.

This is normally a great app for seeing all the news you would want on a team in a specific place and being able to discuss said news/articles in a confined place away from the website its on. For some reason, this past week it had been not working for me at all. It starts to crash 2 secs after opening the app. The app has always had its problems but recently it hasn’t even been usable. If the crash gets fixed then I can change it to 4 stars.

The is generally solid, but has become increasingly buggy of late. I’m not sure if it has been recently updated or what, but basic functions like going to scores/mlb, for example, are intermittently nonfunctional. That’s a pretty essential and basic function, wanting to see scores by a sport/league, and when it doesn’t work, the app is pretty useless. Hopefully they can get their act together and get rid of these bugs or I’ll have to find a different sports app.
